Robb Nash connects with youth on tough issues

September 15th, 2017

Robb Nash is internationally known for leaving a successful music career to share his incredible story with thousands of young people. He is coming to Pembina Hills this month thanks in part to the Soul Sisters Memorial Foundation, whose donations and other corporate sponsors keep his show on the road, touring schools across Canada. Robb and his band will be at R.F. Staples School on Friday, September 22. Junior and Senior High students from all PHPS schools and St. Mary School are invited to attend.

On his website, Robb says, “We live in a world where more and more people are suffering from depression and addiction. Suicide is becoming an all-too common occurrence and affecting younger and younger ages. But we believe there is hope as the subject of mental health becomes talked about more and more. We are strongly passionate about using our music to continue these ever-important conversations.”

Colleen Teske, PHPS Coordinator of School Counselling tells us, “Robb’s music and story have a huge impact on students every time they get a chance to see his show and hear his story. He has the ability to reach kids in a way many people can’t, and it makes a huge difference in those students — some even handing over suicide notes to him. His message is one of hope and choosing to live each day with purpose.”

As seating is limited at the school, parents will not able to attend. If you would like to see Robb, he will be the guest speaker at the Soul Sisters fundraiser, Nelly’s Project 4 on Saturday, September 23 athte Westlock Community Hall.
