Caring and Sharing 2019

December 10th, 2019

Our schools have a tradition of giving to those in need. Here’s a quick look at what just a few of our schools have been up to this season.

Dunstable School
The Tree of Warmth and a Stuff a Stocking Campaign are underway at Dunstable School.  They are also doing a classroom gift exchange the last day before the holidays.

École Barrhead Elementary School
Recently the Grade 6B class (Blum/Sekulich) held a two-day bake sale that raised $960.50. They used the money to buy toys and games to donate to the local FCSS Toy Drive. The school also just wrapped up a Reverse Advent Calendar this holiday season and donated so much food to the FCSS Food Bank that it took 4 vehicles to deliver!!

Neerlandia Public Christian School
NPCS students collected items for the LAMP project—food, baby items, clothing, shoes, etc. Brian & Judy Luckhardt will be delivering these donations to Hall Lake school in Northern Saskatchewan for Christmas.

Eleanor Hall School
Eleanor Hall’s foyer is home to a “Tree of Warmth” this year. Students have been busy collecting new mittens, hats, scarves, and socks to decorate the tree and those will be donated to the less fortunate in the near future.

As well, the competition is underway in our House Leagues food donation drive in support of the Westlock Food Bank. House Leagues are school wide and offer cross graded monthly activities for K-9 students to work together. Younger students enjoy being mentored by the older kids and helps establish a greater sense of community within our school. Our four houses (Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Emotional) have been busy collecting daily items.
