Citizenship Award Winner – Amie Gibert

June 27th, 2019

Amie Gibert is a Grade 4 student at Busby School and was nominated for the Citizenship Award by Principal Angie Bachand. In her nomination, Ms. Bachand describes Amie as a very responsible student. While many of her peers are socializing or playing in the gym, Amie chooses to help with the breakfast program. If there is an extra job that needs to be completed, such as setting up for the Author’s Night, Amie will offer her assistance. When she takes on a job, she always gives it her full attention.

Amie displays kindness to others and is a wonderful problem solver, helping her classmates and other students out when there is friction. She is quick to stand up to those who are being unkind or if someone is doing something they shouldn’t she will often respond with, “That’s not very nice.” Amie can often be seen helping out with younger students, helping them pull off tight boots or helping with tricky zippers.

The school board is pleased to present Amie with the Citizenship Award for recognition of the positive contributions she makes in her school and community. Congratulations!
